I went to my very first convention earlier this year and if there’s one thing I learned it’s plan, plan, and replan. I did my best to plan my days but I missed out on some entertaining shows while waiting in line for autographs. I have no regrets. I love all my autographs.
I went in with a written list of the shows and panels that I wanted to go to but I didn’t plan the time I would spend in line. I was so focused on getting the autographs first that I missed out on other things. I spent a lot of time wandering around the second day which could have been used to get autographs but I had already gotten them all.
I did get to see the costume contests which was fantastic. I had even dressed up myself. I went as Nifty from the pilot episode of Hazbin Hotel. I got a pic with an Emily cosplayer that’s posted to my Instagram. Everyone looked so awesome dressed up.
I met a couple authors there who had booths up. There was even a publishing company there selling their books. It was a nice little bookstore in the middle of all the chaos that is a convention. Before attending the convention, I had read “The Salamander Stone” because the author was going to be there. Sadly, Heidi Nickerson couldn’t make it, but her book was still worth reading.
I can’t wait until my next convention. Dressing up and losing yourself in the world of fandoms is just so fun. I can’t wait until GalaxyCon comes back next year.
